The first-year intermediate exams in Andhra Pradesh will continue as usual.

Amaravati: In Andhra Pradesh, the government has decided to continue conducting public exams for first-year intermediate students as usual from the next year, based on suggestions received regarding proposed reforms in intermediate education. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus implementation, exam conduction, and internal marks policy were among several proposals recently announced by the Intermediate Education Board. Suggestions and recommendations were accepted until the 26th of this month. Based on these suggestions, the government has decided to conduct public exams for first-year intermediate students as per the current system.

Many suggestions were made, including concerns that students might not focus on their studies and their learning abilities might decline if exams are not held. The proposal for internal marks policy will be withdrawn. Following the NCERT syllabus, public exams will be held for both first and second-year intermediate students as per the current system. There will be no separate A and B papers for mathematics; both will be combined into one paper. The subjects of plant and animal sciences will be merged into a single paper, Biology. For language subjects, English will be mandatory, and students can choose another language subject as an elective. The Intermediate Education Board will hold a meeting soon to make resolutions regarding these points. For more details, visit Vaartha.
